Hello weevils!
The return of Rant Central begins with a dramatic confusion with the June highlights posted on the Bin Weevils Blog. I know June is almost over but seeing how it is, I reckon it is definitely worth writing about. Let me simply present these highlights:
I don't know about you but I surely feel like an alien after seeing them. Don't you just feel like your actually on a Weevil World blog rather than a Bin Weevils one? If you are one of those people who believe Bin Weevils isn't closing down for Weevil World, then I suggest you re-think because the influence for the game is so low that the team are now posting highlights based upon another game on a blog that should be posting about the news on the game it is supposed to be about.
55Pixels have made it so darn ridiculously obvious that they no longer care about maintaining Bin Weevils and I don't think even Disney were that stupid when they were developing Club Penguin Island (which at the time, I simply thought they were working on a project attached to the current Club Penguin and were not creating a game that would replace Club Penguin altogether!) and seeing how Weevil World is all they post about, it clearly shows they are moving (or trying to move) players over but I think they better try harder than that since due to driving out pretty much everyone (and making my well hard worked videos get hardly any views), there is certainly not going to be a good profit in the waiting so you better get up and start advertising your stuff on TV and get a new community since you have pretty much pissed off the community you already have!
Speaking of Weevil World itself, I went on it and analysed it myself and thanks to the actual game itself, I was able to get the dream I once dreamed of 8-9 years ago which was to get bandit on my buddy list but less of my childhood fanboy Bin Weevils life, let me go into detail about the Weevil World game itself.
The game is... well, I wouldn't call it terrible and I wouldn't call it a Bin Weevils disaster because it's completely new and not a gorgeous cake some fat person has just sat on but in terms of having the similar ugly colouring they have poisoned Bin Weevils with, I can clearly tell this will be a game dominated by 5 year olds in the future. But at least this time, the context isn't a contradiction since they haven't called it a bin but more like they have called it a world so good job on doing some research back there 55Pixels!
I found that the way they jumped from full-3D to semi-3D to a completely flat-2D game is what I have found a completely huge step back to 2003 (just that the graphics are more crappier) and is simply something that is going to be a huge embarrassment if competed with other trends this decade or next decade. It will be as if Club Penguin Island will now get the upper hand when talking about structure since they have went from 2D to 3D and have pretty much swapped roles. The whole concept of completely flat homes and basic PNG items makes 55Pixels look more than ever like a company copying Moshi Monsters (when will they stop for crying out loud!?) so perhaps a law suit is in preparation whilst Weevil World develops? Who knows?
For as much as they have created an ugly flat based online game for the early noughties, I do find that the animations for the weevil characters are well programmed and for as much as they have taken a step backwards in pretty much everything, I have found they have stepped forwards in terms of background since they have implemented background music for the game and in my personal opinion, I believe background music is one important aspect for a game which really sets out the scene and makes a nice environment for everyone. And as I have mentioned before and will now mention again, I give more respect for 55Pixels in this game switching situation as they have also transferred everyone's Bin Weevils accounts over to Weevil World unlike Disney who simply put it as "Start all over again and give us more money you scrubs" so at least they have tried to reduce an amount of upset which would be made when Bin Weevils closes which I am extremely surprised by since from all the area revamps and not listening to players, I always saw 55Pixels as a company that feeds off anger and tears.
Will our "new adventures" be a catchphrase entering the 'bin' soon? Seems more likely each day!
That's it for this post!
