Hello weevils!
As some of you may already know, Google Chrome is killing off Flash and so Bin Weevils will be powered by the web based language of HTML5 and CSS from now on. Due to the fact HTML and CSS aren't even considered 'coding languages' and that they can be exploited easily, I myself (if the game was still popular as being Flash) would have told the players that they're just going to have to use an old version of chrome or that they will have to use Internet Explorer or Firefox in order to play the game.
Fair play on the team at 55Pixels for actually responding to a change in events for once but don't you think they should have got the memo that flash games are old fashioned and that they should not be trying to find ways around it so that they can still power them up? I mean, we've not only recently developed virtual reality gaming.
Now I myself love retro games seen on consoles such as the SEGA Megadrive, the Dreamcast, the PlayStation 1&2 etc but when it comes to online gaming, things really need to adapt to the modern world in order to stay alive.
My resolution is that Bin Weevils should become a game more like most online games which is to be completely 3D with use of key controls in which you launch the game using a launcher (just like on games such as Minecraft, Toontown etc). It would be hard to get used to big changes but this would put Bin Weevils ahead of games like Club Penguin, Moshi Monsters and Animal Jam and would put it in a year that you would call '2016'. Or, it can just close down because I've been through many reasons as to why the game simply needs to jump the shark.
Onto the change; I partly find Google Chrome stupid for shutting down Flash but at the same time, I'm relieved it has taken a step into the modern world a bit more. Onto the actuall look of the new HTML look; they have implemented their anti-contextual looks with their ugly 3 year-old graphics and have simply redecorated the original Flash look of the login and register page rather than jump to the opportunity of creating something completely different or new. Same old 55Pixels!
