Hello weevils!
Last week I came across a very unique piece of information which tells us all about what is behind the screens of the game that completely continues to not listen to us and destroy the complete meaning and context out of it!
On March 26th last year, the former head of creative (Duncan Brown, credit to Tiger) issued a review on glassdoor about working there. Here it is below:
https://www.glassdoor.co.uk/Overview/Working-at-Bin-Weevils-EI_IE974852.11,22.htm
So, now we seem to know everything wrong with the company! Let's start off with no pensions being given. A pension is something which is supposed to supply you with money for when you get old and decide to retire and the CEO of the company (who is currently Richard Watney at 55Pixels) is supposed to help out by putting money in it. But, as it says on the review, there is "no pension" so if someone actually were to work there until they retire, they'll be screwed!
Moving on, the review also states that it is "An unavoidable focus on the poorest performing part of the business." which is basically pointing out the biggest problem; creating stuff in which the entire company knows that the players will never like which has been a huge rant on this site and having someone from 55Pixels themselves say it makes our point look even better!
And look, theres more! As I've been saying in previous posts, I have a theory that Bin Weevils is facing closure due to the circumstances and this review has created a huge impact on that theory because it states that there is a "Critical lack of funding" which in other words, the game isn't getting money. Money goes on servers, domains, business emails etc and not getting money means not being able to afford those things and without those things means that there will be no game altogether.
Now, onto the salaries; you seem to get paid a pretty good amount considering the lack of work they do. It really is a selfish job afterall!
Now onto the Employee Benefits Review, they have given the company a 2/5 star review saying it "was virtually non existent" - This sure has taught me a lot about Bin Weevils!

Moving onto something else, the current game is a huge let down to people such as the co-founder.
I mean, if you look at this online newspaper article (http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/shortcuts/2013/jul/28/bin-weevils-new-moshi-monsters), the co-founder quotes things such as "The weevils are so-called because they live in a bin", "The idea, is that it originated from rubbish.", "All the characteristics of Bin Weevils were born out of this idea that they were cheeky, anarchic, irreverent, a little bit grungier than some of the more glossy kids brands that are around."
and that the co-founder "uses the words "slimy" and "grimy" to talk about them.".
Now, from reading the quotes in bold, does the game meet the expectations that the co-founder of the game puts it at? NO! The weevils clearly don't "live in a bin" and are now exactly like "some of the more glossy kids brands that are around" and definitely aren't described as "slimy" and "grimy" but rather that "Dirt is Gross" instead.
So, as well as feeling sorry for the old players like me, I now also feel sorry for the actuall people working there from the start because the vision they saw the game as has now become what they didn't want to see the game as with it not being different to other kids brands for example.
It is such an awful shame that the hard work and vision someone has put into a game has been crushed into a money lure full of vibrant colours and out of place context.
