Hello Bin Weevils!
Not only is this a public insult delivered by their staff to the players, especially for the ones who fund for Bin Tycoon Membership, but this could have deeper consequences than a month of enduring stodgy content. Here's a look into what content we have been offered this month:
Promotions, promotions, promotions. Need I say more. An inevitable feat on Bin Weevils; getting far too repetitive now. I respect that abolishing flash mobs is beyond consideration as income & revenue is needed for their company, but they need to control promotions, as I said in my previous post. Promotions with context certainly aid the game, and make it more exciting for children - but an example of an alienating promotion is the Transformers advert at Dirt Valley - it's taken over the drive-in cinema, and also promotions have taken over the map, in the process, decreasing area sizes and space. Also, it's the element of childish promotions which are causing the audience to be disinterested. I know that the game was originally aimed for 6-12 year olds, and some argue that it is us that's changing, not the game. However, in the golden era on Bin Weevils [2007-2013], there was context to the game, and the promotions did have purpose to them. The promotions that Bin Weevils have advertised are clearly inept, and aimed at toddlers. In the older players' defence, the game is now probably suitable for a 13+ audience, as the community on social media are creating projects, websites, and creating multiple accounts for Bin Weevils; I make that judgement also by the chat filter.
Finally, onto the Gam's Birthday event. Now, we received this event last year also, so this isn't original at all. However, this update is again, a capitalist one. They get money in their pockets for producing nest items, which is a trademark move for an event, and you call that a job? They will just simply go through all the competition entries for designing the cake, skim through the first ten, and randomly select one, and it always has to be the one that takes the least effort. I appreciate that it is understandably frustrating to put two hours of work to prepare an entry, but to see it lose to an entry that takes less effort. An example of this was the trophy design competition - the design itself was fairly simple, in comparison to others. Even worse for the winner, Bin Weevils cleaned the grime off the winner's design.
To conclude, I honestly think that Bin Weevils would have been better off doing a month in context with this month. For example, this month and next month represent a big year for sport - the football European Championships (EUROs) are taking place this month, and the Olympics from late July-August so promoting healthy lifestyles and introducing new events this summer, perhaps decorating the Bin, to the first ever Bin servers, which had flags representing countries, would show they take these updates seriously, therefore it would get more attention like the Fiesta event in May 2013 in-game. It's also made me concerned about KOTB's popular concept being alienated to a modern one, in accordance with modern-day-esque updates on the game, which would clearly cause conflict, as it goes down as even insulting the game's stature.
