Hello weevils!
I am back with another analysis of the monthly surprises 55Pixels bring about and boy, have I seen improvement? They're actually including things about Bin Weevils within the highlights unlike last month (Bin Weevils closing for Weevil World cover-up confirmed!?) but it still doesn't meet the standards that a player would and should be getting from a paid company so it is time to sit up and get the constructive criticism running (without getting blocked by 55Pixels of course)!
Moving down, things get worse. A LOT worse in fact. I forgot to actually rant about this last post but since 55Pixels have kindly promoted it out in the open of their highlights for free slaughter, I simply haven't forgot to rant about this thing this time. And this 'thing' is no other than the freaking Transformers promotion they have not promoted on just Bin Weevils but have actually promoted it on Weevil World in an attempt to earn more money from a game currently in Open-Beta! I mean, not even Disney try and grab money when their new cash cows are in Beta showing that 55Pixels are looking beyond the devil in this circumstance and I find it so utterly shameful that the first ever clothing item to appear in Weevil World had to be that of a Transformers advertisement. What happened to putting the game first before the third party? Looking at Weevil World itself, they seemed to have put quite a lot of effort with the promoting cinema *cough* new Riggs whilst features such as the actual clothing store and several other nest items shops appear to have not been released just yet. Hold on, shouldn't it be the other way round? Don't the tree trunks come before the tree branches? Not in the world of Weevil World it seems!
Enough of that poison, lets move onto the release of the clothing store and the several other nest item shops! Now, the first thing that comes into my head is "Will they actually release them this month?" but unfortunately, I can't see the future so that question must remained unanswered until the end of the month. The shops designs are by far extremely ugly but I have felt I have ranted enough about 55Pixels' commercialised graphics so I'll be going more into the concepts instead. So, rather than one big store, they have instead decided to separate the different categories of nest items by putting them all in individual shops by which doesn't it bring you back to the days of 2010-2012? I myself thought after forming Nestco that their vision changed to believing in selling everything in one place but as Weevil World shows, it's as if they changed their vision back to 2010 but I guess as long as it isn't annoying as having to use Nesto and Bin Mart, shop separation may not be all that to smack the Wii Remote at the wall about. But to be honest, I do wish they'd U-turn on things such as maybe King of the Bin perhaps which would be appreciated by your customers?
And now let's talk about the highlights based upon you guessed it, Bin Weevils; the game that seems to be appearing as a promotion to itself more like the main game itself. So, what have we got? Well, the first thing mentioned is the 'Hem's Hats Haturdays' which doesn't the pun make you laugh so hard your jaw drops? Enough of the brutal sarcasm, let me talk about the feature itself. So, level-free hats for 10 dosh on Saturdays, what do I think of that? Well, I first of all have no objections to making hats level-free for a short amount of time since a hat is a hat and since all low levelled weevils are allowed to obtain the popular feather hats, 55Pixels won't be easily allowed to unfairly ban you forever without a warning if you were to change a small line of code which allows you to wear any hat at any level since the person could have simply got the hat at that certain event. With that in hand, maybe 55Pixels could focus more on I don't know, the Islamophobia, racism and sexual activity occurring at Flum's Fountain? And c'mon, by now you should easily be able to spot those sorts of people since barely any players come to Flum's Fountain anymore due to been put off your updates. Moving back onto topic, the highlights also state 'Hats for 10 Dosh' by which do they mean every hat in the store will be 10 dosh each? I don't know myself due to how it's worded but if so, then I really don't think it would be a great idea since it's allowing extremely easy access to valuable hats that require weight pulling to get and players could be left with most of the shop if everything is charged at such a cheap price. This adds onto my view against charging Dosh for hats since it clearly can't be properly stretched out when doing discount sales whilst with Mulch, it is easier to earn and prices can range from around 500-8,000 or what not. In terms of the discounts, if an 150 Dosh hat were to be reduced to 10 Dosh in price, that would be around a 94% decrease which is more of a discount you would get on Black Friday so yeah, this is breaking the game 55Pixels!
Then we have an increase in codes but meh, there are already too many codes given out on the game as it is so I guess they may as well add more.
Finally, we have the 'Project SF17'. What on Earth could this be? Southern Fried 17? Suffocating Fish 17? Salary Falls 17? Cutting out the sarcasm, this is clearly the 2017 Summer Fair which I guess is clearly obvious to people who would have played Summer 2016 and earlier. So, what to expect... hmm... well, in addition to the fact they are calling this a project, this certainly proves that this Summer Fair will have a lot of new features and will NOT be a complete recycle of last year with a few new accessories. But oh wait, 55Pixels' idea of an update is pressing a button and releasing a new coloured ice lolly stick so I don't think I can be certain on this one so I must end it here.
And for the love of God Weevil World - get your own darn website!
That's it for this post!
