Hello weevils!
It's been quite hard finding something to talk about in the past couple of days and it really doesn't help when there are no longer any monthly highlights preferably because 55Pixels have stopped caring about Bin Weevils completely and would choose to cover up the fact that it's no longer getting any attention at all (not even a flash mob!) and of course, carrying out monthly highlights posts only based around Weevil World updates would just be too darn silly considering it'll be posted on the Bin Weevils blog! So, in order to keep this blog fresh, I've decided to create a post discussing the new treasure hunt related update that has recently been added to weevil world (but kinda linked to Bin Weevils in a way that Scribbles investigated it!).
So, what's happened? Scribbles has basically found a piece of torn paper and if nobody had already guessed, it turned out to be a piece of important paper regarding information about a new Weevil World update based around a new treasure hunting game. So two weevils with completely different animation meet as follows:

Now, this is the part I can really strongly object to because as it shows, the torn piece of paper has appeared to have "crossed the sea all the way to your part of the world". So what does that show exactly? Why of course it proves that Swathe's response regarding how the current Bin Weevils environment is a bin with the excuse of "the bin lid being off" which was later adopted by hard-core Bin Weevils fanboys has been totally crushed (if only Swathe were here now...) so in your face! In addition to the already stupid reasoning being completely disproved, we can all say for sure that the context of Bin Weevils is nowhere near having any resemblance of it being based inside a bin! But on a lighter note, it appears Scribbles himself has only just realised that his original environment is no more being as how surprised he is (and also how he says "the sea?"). Could this be the start of the actual weevil characters ranting about the game they are in themselves?
Not only that, but we have also been given more of an insight as to where the Weevil World context is and as shown, the small little world is simply only across the sea from where the Bin Weevils setting is. I myself am quite disappointed as I imagined a completely different planet but it's not really worth ranting about being as the term 'world' still matches the context of Weevil World as it doesn't always suggest a context based around a full planet.
Now that I have covered the build-up to the update, let's go into the content itself! From having a brief play around with the new game released, it does seem pretty alright so far but such animation does look a bit basic if you know what I'm saying:

In terms of the game play, I was actually quite surprised to see that this wasn't some form of reboot to mulch dig but rather a completely new process! Rather than digging for mulch, you instead dig for random different items which could grant you certain rewards and in my opinion, that's a rather great style of gaming since it brings about the element of surprise which will encourage players to come back to the game on a regular basis as it's not like they're going to know what to expect!
But what sort of rant site would this be if I weren't going to rant on any of my normal posts (I'm not Bin Weevils after all)? So, I think it's worth commenting on the whole procedure of obtaining spades:

This is no other than a clear cash grab that 55Pixels have set up in order to encourage people to buy Bin Tycoon or Dosh top-ups without having to restrict the feature to being members only (a sneaky tac-tic indeed which has been used since 2012!). Although the prices of topping up spades aren't necessarily too expensive (and you can obtain dosh via the daily wheel spin), I just find it strange that these forms of power-ups or top-ups or what not on these particular games are always priced with dosh. I mean, does it hurt to mix it up a little with mulch priced things as well just like how it is in the shops? The whole concept of only being given 5 free spades daily whilst the game itself is full of several surprises will easily encourage any player to drain their dosh since of course, wouldn't they want to know what else they can find? There are also rare items in the game which I reckon would take hundreds or even thousands of spades in order to even obtain which yet again would require a large quantity of dosh if you were to be ultra determined to get those rare items in a short amount of time! So yes, nice try fooling us with low prices when they are nothing but disguised influences for in-app purchases!
And I guess that is it for now but before I end the post, I thought I would love to end on something I found rather ironic and funny which was in fact the way that they concluded the post which announced this treasure hunt game:

The thing that really got me was that not only Scribbles looks like he is having some sort of crack overload but also the irony when Alpha says "I don't think he gets a lot of scoops these days..." because it's as if 55Pixels know full well themselves that they are doing bugger all for Bin Weevils and just couldn't help but say it out loud in their most illustrative way possible! You do make me laugh!
So there, I conclude. I am not sure when the next post will be since I am running out of things to add due to the lack of Bin Weevils activity but I will try and get as much done as possible.
That's it for this post!
