It appears that 55Pixels actually still have potential for Bin Weevils after all and that they apparently have no plans on ever closing it. To elaborate, someone within the community recently messaged them regarding an issue with their Bin Tycoon membership and asked them if this issue was anything to do with the game closing down and here is what they replied and I quote:
"Hi there,
Thank you for getting in touch.
Despite some rumours being circulated by a small cluster of users based on misinformation, we can confirm that Bin Weevils will not be closing down in May. As always, the team have many plans for both Bin Weevils and Weevil World in future and we do not envision a time when either game will exist without the other!"

So first of all, they go on to say that a 'small cluster of users' (possibly myself) have somehow made this wild assumption of Bin Weevils possibly closing based on 'misinformation' which in itself already makes me freaking angry being as 55Pixels have clearly not paid full attention as to where we make our assumptions off. So, if you are a staff member of 55Pixels, let me give you a little summary as to how we made such assumption.
1: WHOIS DOMAIN LOOKUP
2: THE GENUINE DOWNFALL IN GAME ACTIVITY
3: THE RISE OF WEEVIL WORLD
So with all that included, I hope that you fully understand our side of the story. Also, there is a major difference between an assumption and plain out-right 'misinformation'. Firstly, misinformation is only really found in the mainstream media and secondly, jokes aside, I and many others never actually said 'Bin Weevils is closing' as if we were implying that it was 100% going to close. Do you now get it? Good. Let's move on.
I would now like to discuss the whole concept of how 'the team have many plans for both Bin Weevils and Weevil World in future and we do not envision a time when either game will exist without the other!'. First of all, we can already pick out the whole idea that there have been no signs of plans for Bin Weevils for the past 3-4 years so how can we even trust what the statement says when Bin Weevils is dying right before us? My viewpoint remains the same about Bin Weevils simply being a source of temporary cash income whilst Weevil World is developed since as things stand, Weevil World still doesn't have enough features to really introduce any forms of membership whilst Bin Weevils still has features added from as far back as 2009 which requires payment.
Moreover, why even bother trying to keep boosting the life support into Bin Weevils? The game itself has left a significantly brutal legacy of where pretty much all the players are fed up with how it has turned out in terms of refurbishments, story, features etc. and if anything, a lot would probably like to see it be put to rest once and for all. I myself would likely miss my weevil character itself since I've had it with it's unique look for almost a decade now and seeing it on Weevil World just isn't the same but even I think that enough damage has been done and that a lifespan of over 14 years is an exceptionally great run to be proud of. Do you honestly think that the game still has potential after seeing the population dramatically drop down right in front of you? Do you honestly think that you actually have plans for it when nothing has been done in terms of major updates in such a long time? Do you honestly think that you can regain attention without additional advertising along with the awful area revamps that have greatly annoyed your player base? These are simply questions that you need to consider yourself, 55Pixels.
The customer service also appears to still be patronising and unprofessional as it always has been and I thought it had changed but it had turned out that you only get proper responses when writing to Weevil World rather than Bin Weevils so note to self, any queries based around your account should directly be forwarded through Weevil World since Weevil World appears to actually have decent customer service which in itself dealt with an email I sent them regarding Weevil of the Week a while back. Whoever works for Weevil World customer service needs to give themselves my very own thumbs up and I myself see it being a very hopeful game in the future!
But for Bin Weevils, you really really need to stop trying to whip a dead horse for the love of God...
That's it for this post!
