Hello weevils!
As requested by someone within the community a couple of days ago, the whole lottery-based system of 'Mulch Tastic' appears to have quite an issue as seen below:
As requested by someone within the community a couple of days ago, the whole lottery-based system of 'Mulch Tastic' appears to have quite an issue as seen below:
As you can see, there are so many occasions where virtually nobody wins the top prize which yet again, is just another thing among a thousand of things which show the extremely low population as well as it further questioning the point of keeping the game alive when the player base itself is long dead.
Now don't prove me wrong, winning the Mulch Tastic top prize isn't easy and I myself have bought several tickets from it since it first opened and I've never won the top prize but the thing is, there used to always be winners every draw even back when it opened in 2009 and any instances of there being no winners used to be a quite rare occurrence.
As well as considering the fact that the game is dead, there is also the fact that the whole concept is simply getting too old since it's been the same old repetitive procedure for the past eight to nine years it has been available which itself is an extremely long time to be run for! Now to be fair, out of my own experience, it does take a few years for Mulch Tastic to start getting repetitive and boring (I think it took me around 3-4 years before getting bored with it) and so I reckon the slightest new functional updates brought to it could potentially make you more engaged in it for a lot more years.
The only update that has ever been made to it ever since it arrived in 2009 was simply giving it the good old 55Pixels disease where they simply changed all the graphical images that appear on the Mulch Tastic interface which does absolutely nothing to keep any of us engaged longer!
What they should have done was firstly, dramatically increase the minimum top prize from 12,000 mulch to 100,000+ mulch because the rates of inflation with the virtual currency has since skyrocketed since 2009 which makes 12,000 mulch an amount which is next to nothing anything which you consider a lot of mulch. I myself remember seeing the top prize when Mulch Tastic first came out and I remember being amazed at such amount since as mentioned before in my 9th anniversary autobiography, an amount like that would have been a lot of money 8-9 years ago compared to nowadays. I reckon the whole idea of keeping the minimum top prize amount the exact same for these past years would have likely sped up the process of myself and many others eventually not playing anymore being as you are playing for such a small amount which itself has made it a bit more repetitive.
Secondly, they need to spice up the whole process a little. Ever since Mulch Tastic came out, it has constantly been the procedure of getting 1-4 tickets (with each new ticket increasing the top prize) and waiting on a particular day for those results blah blah blah. Instead, they could simply set up annual events such as a Christmas, Easter, Summer etc. special draw where perhaps the top prize is increased to a much more exciting amount of mulch which would immediately encourage people who may have got bored to get back into the mood of playing which could result in them officially playing Mulch Tastic again overall. There could also be one-off events where on a random week (random weeks and dates make things more surprising for the players), you may be allowed to create two daily tickets rather than one which would yet again make it more exciting being as the odds of you winning the top prize virtually double in percentage. And for the biggest change, they could simply make it so that there is more than one Mulch Tastic game where a random game out of an x amount of total games are made playable every week or so. For instance, you could have a Thunderball/Powerball style game one week where you would have to choose some sort of 'power' symbol on your ticket and then after that week, it could be the usual original Mulch Tastic game and then after that week, it could be a different game where you have to choose more symbols on a ticket where every ticket could also generate a special raffle number which could grant you a different prize and what not etc.
It is these minor adjustments which can revolutionise one small feature and bring about more elements and colour into something which basically follows a simple fixed procedure. And if you truly want Bin Weevils to flourish (for what ever reason) after May 7th 55Pixels, releasing a reformed version of Mulch Tastic is simply one small and quick thing you could do to make the game a bit more alive.
I think it is worth making note of this over on the Current Issues page. Do you have any of your own ideas of how Mulch Tastic could be improved? Be sure to let me know!
That's it for this post!
