Hello weevils!
It appears that 55Pixels have outsmarted me as the only time I announce something on the lines of "I'll see you next time in the highlights", they out of all times have now decided to stop posting their monthly highlights after all this time as revealed in an email that 55Pixels sent to Jjs:

Instead, they have decided to start posting "monthly events/updates in the first half of 2018" which I guess is reasonable depending on what they will be posting (if only it didn't happen at the only time I announced doing a highlights related post though!).
Moreover, Jjs also sent an email near the end of last year revolving around fan art, buddy shoutouts, new items, weekend puzzle challenges and the advent calendar and how certain things have been recycled and what not and here is the reply they sent:

And as to my surprise, they plan on making such features 'relaunched' and 'revamped' this very year which begins the possibility of Bin Weevils facing towards a completely different direction as I expected.
Originally, I planned on putting my first post of the new year under the title of something like "Will this be the last year for Bin Weevils?" but this email response has suggested that Bin Weevils may not be on it's last legs at all but rather that a new era is coming and with a bit of hope, whatever they're doing better completely improve the disaster of this fourth 'bin' generation once and for all!
I am quite shocked to see that Bin Weevils may not be closing just yet despite it showing a lot of closing down symptoms such as a lack of major updates, immense hacking, a huge downfall in population etc. as well as the fact that the game is currently 14 years old as I speak. The only logical conclusion I can think of is that perhaps Bin Weevils was heading towards closure but maybe it was the change of a new CEO of 55Pixels which could have pushed the game off course of destruction.
If it is completely confirmed that Bin Weevils is going through some major refurbishments, I myself don't know where to stand since firstly, what is the actual point of Weevil World if it wasn't even going to work as a Bin Weevils replacement and secondly, isn't Bin Weevils damaged to the extent that reviving it's status will take immense advertising and fixing up? There are times when things have to jump the shark and so extending the life of Bin Weevils may be risky.
But as things stand, the Bin Weevils domain is still set to expire on 7th May 2018 and so Bin Weevils could still close unless they renew the domain and these so called revamps could measly be something small to just show minor attention being added towards the game. Only time will tell...
That's it for this post!
